During the UNRSF information session, stakeholders from UNHABITAT, UNESCWA, UNEP, UNECA, UNRSF, ITDP and local NGOs, and government agencies participated in the UNRSF information session discussing how to build the capacity of cities to improve road safety management in Africa and Eastern Mediterranean Region.

Today, Nneka Henry, Head of UNRSF, presented at the 2022 NETS Annual Strength IN Numbers Fleet Safety Benchmark Conference on “the biggest opportunity to halve road deaths and injuries by 2030”.

Over 28 stakeholders from UNHABITAT, WHO, UNESCAP, UNRSF and local government departments and institutions participated in the UNRSF information session on reducing motorized two-wheeler crashes, injuries and fatalities in Thailand through a motorized two-wheeler safety master plan.

At the UNRSF information session, experts and representatives from ESCWA, ECA, UNRSF, iRAP, EIB, IRF and relevant government agencies focused on how the new UNRSF project will benefit Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal by upgrading the quality of roads.

At the UNRSF information session, stakeholders from UNDP, ESCAP, UNRSF and relevant government agencies, as well as institutions, shared ideas to strengthen national capacities in road safety management to reduce the number of fatalities from road crashes in Nepal.

Project managers and experts from UNDP, WHO, and UNECE discussed ways to enhance the post-pandemic road safety system in the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Project partners and stakeholders from UNECE, UNESCAP, UNRSF, MIROS, TZF and FIA Foundation shared insights on how the new UNRSF project can benefit ASEAN countries by promoting the enforcement of motorcycle ABS.

More than 13 project partners and stakeholders convened to discuss how the UNRSF-funded project can further establish quality import and export standards in Africa and Asia.

Over 30 stakeholders from UNESCAP, UNRSF, EASST, IRF, EIB, ADB, FLONE, CAREC, Word Bank, ERBD and IRAP discussed the new UNRSF project can improve compliance with international best practices for road design in Central Asia.
