The UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) celebrates its fourth anniversary today.

Since its inception in 2018, the Fund has been working to help halve road fatalities and injuries in low- and middle-income countries, where over 90% of the 1.3 million fatal crashes occur each year. At the same time, the Fund has been championing safe and green mobility that promotes healthy lives and lifestyles.

Leaving no one behind on the road is at the heart of the first Kofi Annan Road Safety Award, launching 16 March 2022 in Accra, Ghana, by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the Secretariat of the United-Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Ghana, with the support of the Kofi Annan Foundation.
