This project aims to improve post-crash care and outcomes for victims of Road Traffic Injuries (RTIs) by improving the capacity of first responders and hospitals to care for these patients RTIs. The project will implement and test the impact of 6 components of the WHO emergency care toolkit in pre-hospital and hospital settings in Tanzania along the busy A7 highway connecting the north and south of Tanzania.

The project aims to prevent road traffic injuries and deaths on Brazilian federal highways through the development of an interoperable system for collecting and analyzing road data. This will allow for effective countermeasures to be implemented by Brazilian road authorities in charge of infrastructure and enforcement.

This project will integrate the regional components and lessons learned from the UNRSF project: Reclaiming Streets for Pedestrians and Cyclists in Africa in supporting the implementation of Nigeria Road Safety Strategy II (NRSS II) to ensure meaningful delivery of the objectives related to walking and cycling.

This project being implemented by PAHO and WHO is supporting the Jamaican authorities to promote more responsible use of roadways, improve access to post-crash care and reduce road crashes in Jamaica.

This project aims to create a model for supporting the development of sustainable national capacity for road policing in low and middle countries by incorporating road policing into the agenda and mandate of the WHO, UNODC and UN Police, three UN agencies most frequently engaged in policing, the wider agenda of crime prevention and law enforcement.

This UNESCAP-implemented project will support the development and enhancement of inclusive road design standards and practices in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) region to ensure that they mitigate potential road safety risks.
