Iran's performance in policy making and implementation needs to be radically improved through effectiveness and efficiency enhancement in the country’s road safety management system.

The project aims to ensure political commitments to strengthen the lead road safety agency.

Therefore, the proposed project aims to establish a decision support system to help the lead agency build the capacity for evidence-based policy development and implementation through enhancement in the four modules as follows:

  • Data collection and integration
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Decision support system for evidence-based resource allocation
  • Research and development

This project will support better mobilization and enhanced harmonization within the lead agency, which would lead to efficient and effective management and bring sustainable outcomes (decrease in the number of road deaths and injuries) in the future.
