On 1 December, the UNSRF Advisory Board had their annual meeting at the Palais de Nations in Geneva.

As part of the seventh gathering session, Ambassador Lotte Knudsen, Head of the EU Delegation to the UN in Geneva, was nominated to serve as Advisory Board Chair for the 2022-2024 term ending Mr Jean Todt's role as interim chair for the last six months.

The international focus today must be on support for developing countries where apart from the tragic human costs, poor road safety is also causing a significant economic burden. We therefore provide funding for road safety initiatives throughout the world, and we have in particular significantly increased our support for road safety activities in Africa.
