On 30 March 2026, the UNRSF convened an Expert Connect session on seat-belt use, bringing together representatives from nine Member States alongside experts from UN agencies, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society, ahead of the July 2026 UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Road Safety.

The session was structured around three segments: an expert evidence-sharing panel, a country good practices panel, and an open discussion on priorities ahead of the High-Level Meeting. The keynote was delivered by Luciana Iorio, Chair of the UN Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety, and featured contributions from PAHO, UNECE, Global NCAP, Autoliv, and national representatives from nine countries across four continents.
