The project aims to prevent road traffic injuries and deaths on Brazilian federal highways through the development of an interoperable system for collecting and analyzing road data. This will allow for effective countermeasures to be implemented by Brazilian road authorities in charge of infrastructure and enforcement.

This project will integrate the regional components and lessons learned from the UNRSF project: Reclaiming Streets for Pedestrians and Cyclists in Africa in supporting the implementation of Nigeria Road Safety Strategy II (NRSS II) to ensure meaningful delivery of the objectives related to walking and cycling.

This project being implemented by PAHO and WHO is supporting the Jamaican authorities to promote more responsible use of roadways, improve access to post-crash care and reduce road crashes in Jamaica.

In Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, this UNRSF project implemented by UN ESCWA is supporting the transportation authorities to develop geometric design standards to ensure roads are designed to provide adequate levels of safety and accessibility to all road users.
