UNRSF is funding a project in Egypt and Pakistan aimed at building on existing efforts by the national governments to identify legislative gaps in the five road-safety related pillars areas, and to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue for the development of a more comprehensive legal framework in the field of road safety.

The project aims at building on existing efforts by the national governments of Egypt and Pakistan, to identify legislative gaps in the five road-safety related pillars areas, and facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue for the development of a more comprehensive legal framework in the field of road safety.

It consists of the following main elements:

  • In-depth institutional and legal assessment in each country and sharing of the findings during high-level meetings and technical planning meetings with multiple stakeholders;
  • Review of the draft amendments to laws and regulations;
  • Support to the government in adopting a legislative and regulatory framework and development of policy papers and other technical documents.
