The UNRSF Platforms of Engagement are multi-stakeholder networks of thought leaders working together to shape mobility in a safer and more sustainable way, focused on the SDGs in combination with road safety. There are six platforms: Low-Carbon Sustainable Cities; Education; Gender Equality; Health; Partnerships and Data; and Economic Growth. Platform members meet to discuss and share experiences, lessons learned and ideas on high-impact road safety projects that have strong potential to trigger substantial catalytic investments to reduce road traffic fatalities.
Thanks to the contribution of the UNRSF project on safer and cleaner used vehicles in Africa, there is a new European Commission proposal to improve regulation on waste shipments.

The focus of this first meeting of the UNRSF Platform of Engagement on Health and Road safety is on the ongoing UNRSF-funded post-crash response projects being implemented in Azerbaijan and Bangladesh.
Each year, three hundred people die on the roads in Armenia, which has the region's highest road crash fatality rate. This is why the UNRSF project in Armenia, implemented by UNDP, collaborates with UNICEF and Armenia National SDG Innovation Lab aims to connect data, people, and policies for safer roads in the country.
