Make a Safety Statement is a call under the #streetsforlife global message of the New Decade of Action for Road Safety to halve the number of victims on the roads.

In response to this urgent global issue, on 20 September – during European Mobility Week – Jean Todt, the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, launched a global campaign "Make a Safety Statement" in Brussels, Belgium, in collaboration with JCDecaux, and with the support of Saatchi & Saatchi.

To mark the launch, a Press Conference was held with the participation of Jean Todt; Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport; Jean-Charles Decaux, Co-Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux Group; Michelle Yeoh, Oscar-winning actress and UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, and attended by Nneka Henry, Head of the UN Road Safety Fund.

The Calls for Action of the campaign include Make Your Own Road Safety Statement and Donate to the UN Road Safety Fund.
