The European Commission has reaffirmed its support to the UN Road Safety Fund.
Since 2018, the European Commission has been a founding partner of the Fund, which has been working to help halve road deaths and injuries in low- and middle-income countries, where over 90% of the 1.3 million fatal crashes occur each year.
“The European Union has always prioritised, and continues to prioritise, road safety: it is a critical global challenge. Being part of the UN Road Safety Fund partnership ensures our collective efforts can go even further. With our new $3 million commitment to the UN Road Safety Fund, we hope to have a lasting impact on safe and sustainable mobility in developing countries around the world.” – Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport
