To mark the first World Sustainable Transport Day celebrations, the Fund joined discussions at the inaugural event organised by the UN Economic Commission for Europe at Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

On 16 May 2023, the United Nations General Assembly declared 26 November World Sustainable Transport Day. This advocacy day will be vital in enhancing the knowledge of the public on sustainable transport issues, including the importance of intermodal transport connectivity, promoting environmentally friendly transportation, developing socially inclusive transport infrastructure and other aspects of transport sustainability.
