Secretariat

The secretariat for the United Nations Road Safety Fund is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Fund, including strategic, logistical and operational support to the Advisory Board and the Steering Committee; organizing calls for proposals and appraisal processes; conducting monitoring and evaluation and consolidate information in a result-based management system; liaising with the Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office as administrative agent of the Fund; and undertaking resource mobilization under the guidance and supervision of the Steering Committee and the Advisory Board.

Today the secretariat has 4 staff members at its headquarters in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva, Switzerland. The secretariat is also supported by experts and interns as needed.

NNEKA HENRY 

HEAD, THE UNITED NATIONS ROAD SAFETY TRUST FUND SECRETARIAT

Nneka Henry is the Head of the UN Road Safety Fund Secretariat where she leads its work on portfolio management, fundraising, strategic partnerships and global advocacy. 

Before joining the Fund on 1 May 2021, she worked for more than 15 years building multi-sector alliances, implementing multi-country projects, managing high-level events and influencing policy change at the United Nations, World Trade Organization and World Health Organization.

She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne in Australia and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica.
