In Paraguay, the Philippines and South Africa, the UNRSF partly funded a project on Child-Responsive Urban Planning that was launched in September 2019.
The Program was comprised of a series of capacity building initiatives for professionals and stakeholders from various fields on urban planning and transportation for children’s welfare.
It targeted both student urban and transportation planners, playing a key role in the planning, construction and management of safe roads.
The overall goal of the program was to develop capacity in child-responsive urban planning, with particular focus on sustainable transportation planning, road safety, street design for children and safe school environments.
