LAUNCH OF THE NEW UNRSF PROJECT IN ARMENIA CONNECTING DATA, PEOPLE AND POLICIES FOR SAFER ROADS.
Each year, three hundred people die on the roads in Armenia, which has the region's highest road crash fatality rate. This is why the UNRSF project in Armenia, implemented by UNDP, collaborates with UNICEF and Armenia National SDG Innovation Lab aims to connect data, people, and policies for safer roads in the country.

With a focus on improving critical aspects of the government's road safety data system, the Armenia project has great promise to deliver our shared vision of substantially curbing road traffic fatalities and injuries by 2030.

This project directly supports the new National Road Safety Strategy of Armenia and the recently launched Global Plan of Action for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety.

The UNRSF welcomes the US$80,000 of co-financing from UNDP and UNICEF and in-kind contributions committed by the Yerevan Municipality and Road Police.

The strong support of the Armenian government, supported by the expertise of UNDP and UNICEF, will deliver the reduced number of road traffic crashes in Armenia by at least 10%.
