This year 2021-2022 marks the 8th Edition of the festival under the theme; "For a smart and safe mobility“. The festival is organised by the Laser International Foundation (LIFE), in collaboration with the UN Road Safety Found (UNRSF) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

The festival aims to raise awareness of road safety issues and promote increased engagement in road safety cooperation at the global, national and local levels for more concerted effort and targeted financing to reduce the annual 1.35 million fatalities occurring globally.

As we advocate for the greater mobilisation of funds for road safety projects through the United Nations Road Safety Fund, we hope to utilise the cinematic experience and explore how art can unite communities for safer mobility solutions everywhere.

The organizers of the 2022 Global Road Safety Film Festival are opening the festival for submissions as of October 2021. The Deadline for submissions is January 21, 2022.
